Dormalee “Dorm” Louise Smith, age 78, of Munising and formerly of Houghton, died early Saturday morning, July 15, 2017 at her home following a brief illness. She was born in Munising to the late Samuel and Hazel (Elya) Revord. Dorm graduated from William G. Mather High School in Munising in 1955. She worked in food service all over Munising for many years. Dorm was a hard working waitress at the Munising Café, Blue Spruce, and Three Sisters, and then a great cook at Napoli’s and Zeigert’s. In the 1980’s, she moved to Houghton for employment. Dorm worked at the Houghton Walmart when it opened. She was a Walmart associate and sporting goods manager for many years, working there until 2016. Dorm enjoyed watching the Game Show Network and Hallmark Channel, and visiting with friends. She also enjoyed her dogs and cat “Tigger Boy”.
Dorm is survived by her son Louie Smith of Munising, sisters Dolores Webber and Helen Korpela, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Harold and Terry and sisters Emma and Cletus.
No public services will be held at this time.
