James “Jim” B. Denman, age 68, of Munising, died on Thursday afternoon, August 25, 2022 at UPHS – Marquette following a lengthy illness. He was born in Munising on October 3, 1953 to the late John “Jack” and Alice (Johnson) Denman. Jim grew up in Munising and graduated from Wm. G. Mather High School and then attended the University of Michigan. He returned to Munising and went to work with his dad at Denman’s Hardware. They worked many years side by side and Jim became owner in 2007. He also recently began working side by side with his son and was proud of its three-generation heritage. Jim was a proud member of the NRA.
Jim loved hunting and enjoyed fishing at camp on Ready Lake.
Jim is survived by his son – Jason (Amy) Denman of Gwinn; his longtime companion and friend – Barb Rasmussen of Munising; grandchildren – Jonas, Aili, Raven, Matthew, Brittany, Briana, and Robert Bradley ; and sister – Phyllis (Bernie) Aken of Austin, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Brian Johnson, and niece Kim Gambarin.
