Alice Mary Hautamaki

Munising Alice Mary Hautamaki, age 84, of Munising, died on Friday, July 7, 2006 at 11:00 p.m. at the Tendercare Health Center in Munising. She was born on November 16, 1921 in Munising to Louis and Clara (Seymour) Shamberger. Alice graduated from Sacred Heart School and Wm. G. Mather High School. She went to work for the Munising Paper Company and retired from Kimberly Clark after over thirty-eight years of service in the Finnishing Room. Alice married Raymond Matthew Hautamaki on October 3, 1970. They were married over thirty-five years when he preceded her in death on May 1, 2006. Alice was a lifetime member of Sacred Heart Church and a member of the National Catholic Society of Foresters. She especially enjoyed having her coffee every morning at the Senior Citizens Center. She is survived by her grandchildren - Michelle Griffith of Denver, CO and Thomas Marcin of Vail, CO; son-in-law - Thomas Marcin of Madison, WI; sisters - Roma Stewart of Madison Heights, MI and Clarita (Toivo) Luoma of Inverness, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, husband Raymond, daughter Sharon Marcin in 2000, brothers Raymond, Donald, and Louis Shamberger, and sisters Audrey Campbell, Lillian Kresovich, Mildred "Betty" Byczynski, and Theresa Shamberger. A Memorial Mass will be conducted by Father Chris Gardiner on Friday, July 14, 2006 at 12:10 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Munising. Interment will be at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Chatham.
