Brandon Michael Niemi, age 42, died unexpectedly at home on April 17, 2025 in Statesville, North Carolina. He was born in Virginia, Minnesota on February 22, 1983 to Nathan and Sandra Sue (Fox) Niemi. Brandon grew up in Kincheloe, Michigan, graduated High School and immediately entered the US Navy in 2002. He served as an Airedale Mechanic for 8 years and was honorably discharged in 2011. During his time overseas, Brandon enjoyed meeting the “locals” and would bring candy and gum for any kids he met. He was know as one of the “neatest” guys in his regimen – keeping everything spotless. He also learned to eat fast and on the go! Both of these attributes were evident in his everyday life.
Once discharged, Brandon continued to work as an Airedale Mechanic for a private company associated with the US Navy. He was great at engine mechanics which was evident in how clean and up to date his cars were. Brandon always wanted to travel, so the Navy was the perfect place to do just that and his love of photography detailed his extensive travel overseas. Brandon liked to fish, spend time at camp, and cars. He lately bought his dream car Alfa Romeo and was excited to get it in pristine condition
Brandon was feisty, had an astute mind, was a jokester, was the family communicator, provided guidance to his younger brothers and took control of situations that needed to be done right away.
Brandon is survived by his father – Nathan L (Laurel) Niemi of AuTrain; brothers Jason and wife Crystal, and Nathan (Nater) the 2nd along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Sandra Sue.
