Brandon Michael Niemi, age 42, died unexpectedly at home on April 17, 2025 in Statesville, North Carolina. He was born February 22nd, 1983 in Virginia, Minnesota to Nathan and Sandra Sue (Fox) Niemi. Brandon grew up in Kincheloe, Michigan, graduated from Rudyard High School with the Class of 2002, and immediately entered the US Navy. Brandon always wanted to travel, so the Navy was the perfect place to do just that. He enjoyed meeting new people and would bring candy and gum for any kids he met. During his travels he also enjoyed documenting his adventures through his love of photography. He served for 8 years in the Navy and was honorably discharged in 2011. In his civilian life, Brandon continued to work for a private company associated with the US Navy for many years. Brandon enjoyed fishing, camping, snowboarding, wake boarding, golfing, and generally just loved being outdoors. Brandon was a jokester to all who knew him and loved putting a smile on everyone’s face.

Brandon is survived by his father – Nathan L. (Laurel) Niemi of AuTrain, MI; and siblings Jason Niemi and wife Crystal of NC, and Nathan Niemi II (Nater) of ND along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Sandra Sue (Fox) Niemi.

There will be a public graveside service at Serenity Cemetery in AuTrain, MI at 1:00 PM on July 7th, 2025, followed by a celebration of life at the AuTrain Town Hall. All family and friends are welcome to attend.
