Brenda Lee Seymour, age 49, of Kinoje Court in Wetmore, passed away following a lengthy illness on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She was born on March 16, 1967 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Donald and Linda (Nikunen) Seymour. Brenda grew up in Munising, participated in basketball and softball, and graduated from Munising High School in 1986. She was a loving mother and homemaker raising her three children in Munising. Brenda also worked at the casino on the count team and at Tendercare. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, being outside in the garden, and after her health declined, she enjoyed watching her afternoon television shows.
Brenda is survived by her children – Kristie, Christopher, and Katie Seymour all of Munising; grandchildren – Nevaeh, Jace, and Ava; her mother – Linda Seymour; siblings – Dodie Rousseau, Donna Nikunen, Sonny Seymour, Dion Seymour, and Vern Seymour; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Brenda was preceded in death by her father, Donald Seymour.
A time of visiting with family and friends will take place at the Bowerman Funeral Home in Munising on Thursday, August 25, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. An Anishinaabe Song Service is planned for 12:00 p.m. Memorials are requested to be made to the family.
