Bruce Otteman, age 89, of Culver, Indiana and formerly of Trenary, Michigan died Friday, May 29, 2026. He was born in Pender, Nebraska on October 26, 1936 to the late Herbert and Leola Otteman. Bruce moved to Illinois following college where he earned a degree in mortuary science. Bruce eventually started a fencing business that he ran in Illinois until moving the Trenary in 1985. He stayed busy working at his sawmill, making firewood, and creating beautiful rustic swing sets and furniture. In 2018, Bruce moved to Indiana to live with his son Delmar and to be close to family.

He is survived by his son Delmar Otteman, his daughter Crystal (Ross) Mlsna, his daughter Dana (Jim) Filsone, his son Shannon (Amy) Otteman; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, his brother Rodney Otteman, his friend Judy Henderson and his former spouse Marjorie Otteman. He was preceded in death by his father Herbert Otteman, his Mother Leola Otteman, his sister Janice Fisher

Graveside service will be held on Monday, August 24, 2026 at the Mathias Township Cemetery in Trenary, Michigan at 1:00 p.m.
