Carolyn Ruth Lepeak

Grand Marais C a r o l y n R u t h L e p e a k , age 79, of 14370 W. Lake Avenue, Grand Marais, died on Sunday morning, February 5, 2006 at her home under the care of her family and LMAS Hospice. She was born on May 27, 1926 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Justin and Frances (Beugler) McCarty. Carolyn married Eugene "Gene" Lepeak on December 27, 1947. She was a homemaker, enjoyed entertaining, and playing Bingo. Carolyn was a member of the Holy Rosary Church in Grand Marais. She is survived by her husband of over 58 years - Gene Lepeak of Grand Marais; four children - Holly (Larry) Pilon of Ann Arbor, Walter (Cheryl) Lepeak of Ann Arbor, William (Sonia) Lepeak of Birch Run , and Stanley (Linda) Lepeak of Gilford, CT; son-in-law - Rodney Berkshire; nine grandchildren; brother - David McCarty of Oscoda, MI; and sister - Marjorie Denison of Big Rapids, MI. Carolyn was preceded in death by their daughter Janet Lepeak Berkshire, grandson William Lepeak, Jr., brothers Justin, William, and John McCarty, and a sister Janet McCarty. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. Holy Rosary Church in Grand Marais. Interment will be at the Holy Rosary Cemetery.
