Connie Ann Whitmarsh, age 61, of Chatham, was blessed with eternal salvation following a brief illness on Monday morning, March 23, 2026 at UPHS Marquette. Connie finished her journey with her husband, Paul, at her side. She was born on June 12, 1964 in Milan, Michigan to Richard and Charlotte (Lefler) Dailey. Connie grew up in Milan and attended Milan High School. She moved to the Upper Peninsula and raised her family. Connie met Paul Whitmarsh and they got married on October 4, 1996, together they built a life and home in Chatham. They co-owned Whitmarsh Builders and early on, she worked side by side with Paul. Connie was a homemaker and babysat and cared for many children. She was a Mom figure to anyone who needed it and her home was always open. Connie loved children and was “Nana” to all. She also helped Paul in his other business endeavors of woodworking and garbage collection for the community. Connie helped with the maple syrup operation for the Maple Ridge Sugarbush family business. There wasn’t a summer day where she wasn’t swimming in her pool or tending to her flowers.
Every Sunday, Connie would listen to the church service. She always had a love for God in her heart. Through the grace of God, she was able to believe and received living faith. Connie repented and was a member of The Old Apostolic Lutheran Church of America. She said that was the best gift she ever received and that a weight had been lifted. Connie was a striving Christian.
Over the years, Connie enjoyed scrapbooking, working jigsaw puzzles, had a knack for couponing, and she never passed up on a yard sale. Family was so important and she loved family getting togethers for dinners. She always made sure everyone was fed and they had whatever they needed.
Connie is survived by her husband on nearly thirty years – Paul Whitmarsh of Chatham; their children – Nathan Lehigh, Amanda Lehigh, Jennifer (Chris) LaFave, Rob Whitmarsh, Ashley Whitmarsh, Cassie Whitmarsh, and Rosalynn Thompson; grandchildren – Zander, Mackenna and Brantley LaFave, Fred Olsen, Malena Taylor, and Riley Lehigh; her father – Richard Dailey; brothers – Richard “Rick” Dailey, Jr. and Daniel (Elaine) Dailey; mother in law - Mary Jane Whitmarsh; in-laws – Brenda (Michael) James, Sr., Dawn (Billy) Blake, Amy Whitmarsh of Chatham, and David Whitmarsh of Chatham; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Charlotte Dailey, father-in-law John Whitmarsh, and an infant brother Dean.
