Daniel C. Slee

Daniel C. Slee, age 75, of Harvey, died Friday, June 5, 2026 at Medilodge of Munising. He was born on October 23, 1950 in East Lansing, Michigan to the late Joseph and Evelyn (Johnson) Slee. Dan grew up in East Lansing and played baseball for the East Lansing High School where he graduated from in 1968. Dan had a love of the outdoors at a young age, so when he completed his training to become a corrections officer he jumped at the opportunity to move to the U.P. and work at the Marquette Branch Prison. He worked for over 25 years at the prison and retired as a lieutenant in 2003. Dan’s happy place was at his family property on Highway 13 where he and his siblings built their camp. He loved the summers there and all the adventures that the Hiawatha National Forest could provide.

Dan is survived by his daughter – Laura (Sean) Reeve of Bonaire, GA; son-in-law – Richard Glad of Seattle, WA; grandkids – Caden Glad, and Ivan and Jack Reeve; and siblings – Richard (Joy) Slee, Lynn Slee, and Katleen Slee-Midthun. He was preceded in death by his parents – Evelyn Slee and Joseph and Marjorie Slee; daughter – Cara Glad; and sister-in-law – Sandy Slee.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
