David R. Edmunds

David R. Edmunds, age 79, of Munising, died unexpectedly on Friday, June 20, 2025 in Munising. He was born on December 4, 1945 in Detroit to Warren and Pamalee (LaMorand) Edmunds. Dave grew up in Farmington and attended Farmington High School. At the age of twelve, he went to work at the bowling alley near his home and fell in love with the sport of bowling. Dave met Betty Woodbeck through mutual friends, and they were married on November 7, 1964. Together they raised their two sons. He worked at Stark Hickey Ford dealership as a mechanic and was a truck driver for the Masonry Replacement Company. Dave and Betty moved to the U.P. in 2005. He worked at the BP in Wetmore and then maintenance at the LMAS Health Department. Dave loved golfing, he was a competitive bowler, and he enjoyed going out to eat.

He is survived by his loving wife of over sixty years – Betty Edmunds of Munising; their sons – Donald (Leslie) Edmunds of Munising and David Edmunds of Mio; brother – Warren (Marla) Edmunds; sister – Pamalee (Roger) Brown; niece – Tamie Jett; nephews – David (Karen) DiNoto and Tim Edmunds; great-niece – Jacquelin Jett; and other nieces and nephews on the Woodbeck side of the family. Dave was preceded in death by his parents Warren and Pamalee, parents-in-law Don and Kaye Woodbeck; and brother-in-law Jim Woodbeck.
