Earl "Skeeter" J. Lindeblad

January 24, 1937 — March 14, 2016

Munising

Earl “Skeeter” James Lindeblad, age 79, of Munising, died Monday, March 14, 2016 at UP Health Systems - Marquette with his loving family at his side.  He was born on January 24, 1937 in Munising to the late Swan and Margaret (Hawkins) Lindeblad.  Skeeter graduated from Wm. G. Mather High School in 1955 and began his employment with Kimberly-Clark on June 3, 1955 as a broke handler in the beater room. In 1976, Skeeter became Paper Machine Tour Foreman, the job he held until retirement in 1996 after forty-one years of service.  On August 23, 1958, he married Patricia K. Hebert and together they raised their four daughters.  First and foremost, Skeeter loved the Lord.  He embraced being a servant of God, always giving to others, and never expecting anything in return.  Skeeter was a faithful servant in his church, serving as a bus driver, longtime usher, and as a deacon.  In his younger years, Skeeter enjoyed hunting duck, geese, and deer and as he got older he enjoyed spending more time at his favorite fishing hole.  He also enjoyed feeding and watching the birds throughout the seasons, reading and watching Westerns, reading the Bible, and cooking his Swedish family recipe of Kroppkakor for family and friends.  Skeeter also had a smart and witty sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife of nearly fifty-eight years – Pat Lindeblad of Munising; daughters – Torrie Lindeblad of Big Bay, MI, Lorrie Lindeblad of Knoxville, TN, Marla (Tim) Hunter of Milan, MI and Kristen (David) Speer of Ozark, MO;  grandchildren – Kayla, Justin, Dillon, Tyler, Daniel, Caty, Taylor (Michael), and Hudson;  great-grandchildren – Addison, Lily, Micah, and Mia; sister – Ellen “Dolly” (Joe) Morrow; and good friend – Arthur Normand.  Skeeter was preceded in death by his parents – Swan and Margaret, brother – Bill Lindeblad; sister – Charlotte Prunick; and grandson-in-law – Kyle Ripperger.

No public services are being held at this time.
