Edward “Buck” Perry, Jr. age 91, of Munising, died peacefully in his sleep at his home on Wednesday, August 8, 2018.  He was born to Edward and Eva (Bonner) Perry in Munising on October 17, 1926.  Buck grew up in Munising and attended school there.  He entered into the U.S. Navy and served during WWII from September 21, 1944 until October 16, 1947.  While in the Navy, Buck also was a boxer.     Buck married the love of his life, Colleen M Tiernan and together they raised their family.  They were married over sixty-seven years when Colleen preceded him in death on August 25, 2015.  Buck was hard worker and worked for the Department of Public Works for the City of Munising and then for Kimberly Clark from 1951 until 1987.  During those 35 ½ years of service, Buck worked in the Specialties and Sulfite Departments as a Rewinder Helper, Wet Machine Tender, Sparehand on #11, and then Operator.  When he retired, he was a Painter in the Engineering Department.   Buck was a member of the American Legion, and Buck and his son, Dan, were able to be a part of the Mission IX of the U.P. Honor Flight in 2015.  He loved to hunt rabbit and deer and spend time at camp.  While his children were growing up, he coached all of his kids with baseball (where he was the All-Star coach for two years), softball, flag football and was the trainer for his boys in wrestling.  Buck also loved to play his guitar and dance with Colleen.  He played with his band Buck & Buckeroos and he also played with his children and grandchildren. Buck loved walking his dogs, especially his best four legged friend Petey throughout Brown’s Addition and downtown over the years.

Buck is survived by his children - Judy Linsky of Utica, Susan Marentette and Theresa Cota (Rick Hendrick) of Munising, Kittie (Dennis) Mahoney of Christmas, Danny (Lynn) Perry of Wetmore, Pete (Karin) Perry of Munising, Paul (Kathy) Perry of Sault Ste. Marie; twelve grandchildren,  Jamie (Sean) , Lori, Dan (Kristen), Chelsea, Ben, Mandy, Missy (John), Crystal, Peter (Jenny), Neil (Amber) , Jordan (Shentele), Jeffrey (Taylor) and Jenna (Cody); seventeen great-grandchildren -  Sean, Cody, Abbie, Mackenzie, Madelyn, Noah, Avery, Colleen, Tommy, Nick, Tori, Eilyn, Owen, Rusty, Aaron, Isabella, and Harper;  siblings – Joyce (Jim) Rindhage, Phyllis (Arnie) Aho, Bill Perry, Jack Perry; sisters-in-law – Viola Schultz and Millie Tiernan; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Buck was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved Colleen, their children Kathleen, William, and Charles; sister – Laurabelle (Jess) Leffel; sons-in-law – Bruce Cota, Dave Marentette, and Jack Linsky; in-laws – Ted, Bill, Jack (Louise) and Pete Tiernan, Dorothy (Louis) Champine, and Raymond Schultz.

Visiting time with family and friends will be on Friday, August 10, 2018 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m.   Military honors will be conducted by American Legion and Vietnam Veterans Honor Guard at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Munising on Monday, August 13, 2018 at 4:00 p.m.
