Frank "Andy" Melwiki

Frank Andrew "Andy" Melwiki, age 86, passed away on Saturday, July 12,2025 from complications of dementia with his daughters by his side.
Andy was born on Dec. 31,1938 to the late Frank Melwiki and Rose Demagola. He grew up in Shingleton and graduated from Wm. G. Mather High school in June 1956. After graduation he joined the US Navy. Upon his return from the Navy in 1960, he went to work for Kimberly-Clark, Munising Mill. In June 1963, Andy married Bridget Kee and together they raised 3 daughters. In 1979, Andy and Bridget moved their family to Southern California, as he transferred with Kimberly-Clark to the Fullerton Mill, where he retired in 1996, after 36 yrs of employment. He and Bridet vacationed and traveled for a year, and in 1997 he went to work for the City of Corona in their Maintenance Dept. After working for 8yrs, he and Bridget finally retired to Dobson, North Carolina. Andy loved cooking for his family and friends and spoiling his grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughters and their families; Kari Reese and her children Andrew, Clay and Rose Hildebrand. Katrina and John Koshivos and their daughter Julia. Kelly and David Cromell and their daughter Kelsey, and his Great-granddaughter, Scarlett Reese. He is also survived by his siblings; Margarte Krajewski, Joe Melwiki, Patsy Dale, Pauline Sharkey, Linda Brown, and many nieces and nephews.
Andy was preceded in death by his sister Barbara Haggerty, his wife Bridget Kee-Melwiki, and his Grandson, James Koshivos.
Services will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Munising beginning at 12pm, followed by a graveside service at Maple Grove Cemetery. A luncheon will be served at La Monthe Hall Following the Graveside Service.
