He took his grandsons and granddaughters out in the woods and taught them to fish, hunt, and drive a stick shift at a young age.
He is survived by his wife of almost thirty-six years - Barbara Beacham of Munising; children - Sandy (Jeff) Harvey of Grand Rapids, Retired USAF Staff Sergeant Larry Franklin (Lea Ann) Beacham of Battle Creek and formerly of South Haven; and Susan Parkkila of Cooks; grandchildren - Amy Rivera, Aaron Janosky, Laura Beacham, and Joseph Parkkila; great-granddaughter - Aliya "Alley Cat" Rivera; sisters - Wanda Stampley and Claira Harris both of Kennett, Missouri; brother - Charles Beacham of Cumberland Furnace, Tennessee; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jack was preceded in death by his father Leonard, mother Verna, step-mother Estelle, and son-in-law Larry P. Janosky, Jr.
