Harry Lawrence Allyn

3/25/1935 - 4/29/2026

Larry Allyn was born in San Francisco, CA to Clyde and Hazel Allyn. He grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan and graduated from South High School (Class of 1953), where he met the love of his life Suzanne Claire (Fortier). He attended Grand Rapids Junior College and the University of Michigan and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Larry and Sue were blessed with daughters Renee and Wendy and son Stuart. After working many years at various jobs to support his family he finished his degrees at Grand Valley State University. He worked for many years for Amway Corporation where he was a Director of Sales. Larry enjoyed bringing his children camping at Kingston Lake and all around the shores of Lake Superior building many memories. He spent his retirement years on the shores of Lake Superior hiking and exploring the woods around Grand Marais with Sue until her passing in 2006. 

Larry leaves behind his three children, Renee (Paul) Bogdan, Wendy Allyn and Stuart (Lynda) Allyn. Also, five grandchildren Nicole (Ryan) Bentley, Lauren (Don) LeVault, Lindsay Allyn (Joe Herrmann - Grandpa's fireworks provider), Christopher Bogdan and Jonathan Allyn (Mary Blanton), two great grandchildren George and Grant Bentley and two step great grandchildren Orion and Starie LeVault. 

A Celebration of Life will be held for family only at a later date.
