Jakob William Bowerman, age 13, of Marinette, died on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at St. Vincent Children’s Hospital in Green Bay, Wisconsin after succumbing to injuries due to a tragic drowning that took place on August 20th in Marinette. Jakob was born on September 1, 2011 in Marquette, Michigan to Taylor Singer and Drew Bowerman. He grew up in Munising and Marinette. Jakob attended Park Elementary and Marinette Middle Schools. He was a sweet boy who loved cars, Roblox, Fortnite, riding his bike, fishing, and turtles. Jakob was an amazing big brother, son, and grandson. He was always trying and willing to make friends.
Jakob is survived by his parents – Taylor Singer and Drew Bowerman; sister and brothers – Kinsley, Wesley, and Knox Bowerman; grandparents – Tina Bowerman, Donald (Monia) Curtis, and Jim (Becky Hill) McGee; aunts and uncles – Heather Singer, Danielle Belfry, Taylor Bowerman, Sasha Howard, Logan (Tiffany) Curtis, Arlene Curtis, Maxine Curtis, Brandon Lefebvre, Fiona Lefebvre, and David Lefebvre; great-grandfather – Jerry Zielinski; great aunts and uncles – Lou Ann “Lulu” Singer, Daniel (Dorothy) Singer, Bill (Susan) Bowerman, and Beth (Alan) Girard; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special friend – Laura. Jakob was preceded in death by his grandmother – Julie Singer; great uncle – Fred Singer; great-grandparents – Louise Zielinski, Butch and Barb Bowerman, and Albert and Betty McGee.
Services will be held at the Bowerman Funeral Home in Munising on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Pastor Jason LaFlamme will conduct Jakob’s funeral service at 3:00 p.m. Interment will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Munising at a later date.
