James Rodney Satterlee

James Rodney Satterlee, age 63, of Munising, died of an unexpected illness at his home on Monday, June 2, 2025. He was born in Mason, Michigan to Wendell and Arvilla (McPherson) Satterlee. James grew up in Webberville and graduated from Webberville High School in 1982. He worked a newspaper route for the Detroit Free Press before moving to St. Ignace. James worked security at the casino where he met Patricia “Patty” LaPine. They were married in 1997 and she preceded him in death in 2022. James also owned and operated a taxi service in the St. Ignace area before becoming a semi-truck driver and his retirement. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. James also enjoyed watching television and collecting antiques.

James is survived by his mother – Arvilla Satterlee of Munising; brothers – Duane (Sylvia) Satterlee, Alex (Jill) Satterlee, and Jeremy Satterlee; sisters – Mary Cheeseman, Laura Fell, Karen Young, and Dawn Line, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Wendell, wife Patty, and brother Raymond.
