KATY E. CLARK
Kathryn Elaine Bentley Clark, age 73, of VanMeer, died following a brief illness on Friday, January 16, 2026 at UPHS in Marquette. She was born in Burton, Michigan on November 10, 1952 to the late Bert and Dorothy (Chedeister) Bentley. Katy graduated from Bentley High School in 1970. She worked at General Motors for eighteen years. While working full-time and raising her family, she wanted more. Katy added college at Baker University to her plate and became a licensed physical therapist assistant. She moved to Manistique in 2004 and worked at the Schoolcraft Medical Care Facility. In 2004, she also met Dale Clark and seven weeks after their first meeting, he proposed to her. They were married in Big Bay in May of 2005 and she took the fifty-three-year-old bachelor off the market. Katy continued working as a PTA for North Woods Home Health. She loved her patients, and they loved her. Katy retired in 2019. She and Dale had a wonderful marriage filled with jokes and laughter every day. Katy was just one of those intrinsically funny people. They loved spoiling their dogs and watching football – even though she was a Lions fan and Dale a Packers fan. That was the only time their home was divided. She was the best wife and the last twenty years have been the best of Dale’s life.
Katy is survived by her loving husband and best friend – Dale Clark of VanMeer; son and daughter-in-law – Christopher and Heather; sister – Barbara; nephew – Charlie; niece – Misty; great-niece – Harper; and spoiled dogs – Bubba and Lacy. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Donald, Charles, and DeWayne.
No public services are scheduled. If someone wants to donate in Katy’s memory, any animal shelter would be appropriate because of her love of animals or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital also had a spot in her heart.
