Linda (Murk) Carlson

            Linda Lee Margaret (Murk) Carlson passed away surrounded by her loving family and friends at 6:55 a.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Munising Memorial Hospital.  She was born in Munising on December 5, 1947 to the late Edward and Lillian (Vinskoski) Murk.   Linda graduated from Wm. G. Mather High School in 1966 and Northern Michigan University nursing in 1989.  Linda was a passionate nurse caring for many during her career at Superior Health Haven, Superior Shores Nursing Home, North Woods Home Health and Hospice, and Munising Memorial Hospital.  She loved the outdoors and going hunting with her husband. Linda was always up for a ride in the woods and was always up for an adventure.  She enjoyed her view of Lake Superior from her West End home.  Linda loved her family fiercely.  She was an excellent cook, seamstress, and loved to knit.   Linda had a love of reading that she passed along to her kids and grandkids.  She also loved and cared for all fur babies.  Linda loved unconditionally and welcomed everyone like family.

On January 10, 1969, Linda was united in marriage to John Carlson.  Their family includes their children – Gina Lutey (Russ), Nicole Robinson (Bob Richardson), and Sara Holloway (Brandon Olson), Dennis Gramm (Janet); grandchildren – Richard (Chelsea) Prunick {parents of great-granddaughters Julia and Evi Prunick}, Morgan Lutey, Lily and Mikala Robinson, and Russ and Elizabeth Holloway; siblings – Bonnie Thill, John (Carole) Murk, Greg Murk, Kathy (Nate) Brockman, and Lisa (Kevin) Way; And many Nieces and Nephews who she loved very much. They all say that Aunt Linda gave the best hugs ever!

            A gathering to celebrate Linda’s life will be held on Monday, May 27, 2024 from 2:00 unilt 6:00 p.m. at Gallery Coffee.  There will be time to share food, stories, and music.
