Trenary
Linda McNally, age 69, of Trenary, died Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain, Michigan. She was born on November 10, 1953 to the late Archie and Agnes (LeMay) Finlan. Linda graduated from Marquette Senior High School in 1971. She started working at St. Luke’s Hospital as it transitioned to Marquette General Hospital as a unit clerk. Linda moved to Fort Myers, Florida and continued to work in hospitals until she entered into the United States Army in 1980. She worked in intelligence and was stationed overseas for five years. Linda was back and forth between the U.S. and Europe, but she enjoyed her job the best while in Germany. She was honorably discharged 1988 as a Sergeant. After the service, Linda moved back to the U.P. where she helped care for her parents in Trenary. She met John W. McNally and they were married on October 19, 1990 and together they raised their three children. Linda worked again at MGH before deciding to stay home full time. She enjoyed trips to the casino, watching TV shows about animals, and traveling. Some of Linda’s favorite trips were to see family in Florida, Mt. Rushmore, and her most recent trip to Disney World. Linda loved her family very much. She loved being with her kids, spending time with grandchildren, and special playdates with her great-nephew Edwin.
Linda is survived by her husband of thirty-three years – John McNally; children – Matthew McNally of Munising, Katherine “Katie” (Tyler Kleikamp)(Winter) Black of Marquette, and Alexandria “Allie” (Dan Willis) McNally of Niagara, WI; grandchildren – Shane, Ian, Jon, Helena, Ashlin, and Charlotte; brother – Timothy (Patty) Finlan; sister – Leslie Falkiewicz; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents – Archie and Agnes; brother – Archie “Butch” Finlan; sisters – Anna McHenry and Theresa LaPointe; and brother-in-law – Larry Falkiewicz.
Graveside service will be on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Mathias Township Cemetery in Trenary where the Alger County Veterans Council will conduct military honors. Luncheon will follow at the McNally home.
