Lloyd Raymond Storm, 79, of Leesburg, Florida passed away on August 14, 2025. He was born in Trenary, Michigan to the late Harold and Eleanor (Taylor) Storm. Lloyd lived a life full of love, laughter, and kindness that left a lasting impact on everyone he met.
Lloyd was a proud graduate of William G. Mather High School in Munising, Michigan, before serving his country in the United States Navy from 1964 to 1968. During his time stationed at NAS Pensacola, he met the love of his life, Linda Comerford. They married on September 28, 1968, and together, they built a beautiful life, raising two children, Chris and Diane, in Shingleton, Michigan.
Lloyd worked as a splicing/service technician at Hiawatha Telephone Company in Munising for 35 years, where his work ethic and playful personality earned him the respect and admiration of everyone who crossed his path. Known for his warm, approachable nature, Lloyd never met a stranger and had a special way of making people feel valued. Whether he was cracking a joke or simply sharing a smile, his presence was always a source of joy.
Lloyd was passionate about the outdoors. He enjoyed partridge and deer hunting, snowmobiling, camping, and golf, activities he shared with his family and close friends. His nieces and nephews fondly referred to him as "MacGyver" or "Uncle Lloydie," appreciating his resourcefulness, wisdom, and ability to make any challenge seem surmountable.
After retiring, Lloyd and Linda became "snowbirds," spending winters in Florida before making the Sunshine State their permanent home in 2012. There, they enjoyed retirement surrounded by lifelong friends, including Jim Howard, April Howard, Rich Cook, Marv and Debbie Horsman, Marilyn and Ken Kissling, and Lew and Nancy Paradis, as well as Jean and Don Paradis.
Lloyd is survived by Linda, his beloved wife of 57 years; his son Chris (Brandi); his daughter Diane (Emily); his grandsons Easton and Mason Shores; his brothers David (Debbie) and Charles (Rose); his father-in-law Angus Comerford; his sisters-in-law Suzanne (Jack) Bartles and Carol Storm; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Lance; mother-in-law Dorothy Comerford and brother-in-law, Alan Comerford.
A celebration of Lloyd’s life will take place in July 2026, in his hometown in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, where family and friends will gather to honor and remember the man who touched so many lives with his unwavering kindness and infectious spirit.
Lloyd’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, and he will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
