Louise C. Wing, age 88, of Munising, died peacefully, Friday, February 01, 2008 at the Mather Nursing Center in Ishpeming, MI. She was born June 24, 1919 in Munising to the late Martin and Magdelina (Schrough) Hyla. She attended Wm. G. Mather High School. On June 5, 1943, Louise married Marvel Wing in Marquette. Together they lived in Christmas for many years until Marvel preceded her in death in August of 1982. Louise worked at the Superior Health Haven in Munising for twenty years before retiring. Louise loved playing bingo and collecting elephants of all shapes and sizes. She also enjoyed spending time in her vegetable garden and working on both jigsaw and crossword puzzles. Louise was a member of the Eden Lutheran Church in Munising.
Louise is survived by her daughter - Cyndy (Bob) Brown of AuTrain; grandchildren - Lee (Megan Guynn) Brown of Sawyer, and Cassy Brown of AuTrain; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband - Marvel, parents - Martin and Magdelina; and siblings - Mary, Leo, Frank, John, Josephine, and Cecilia.
Visitation for Louise will be on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the Bowerman Funeral Home in Munising. Rev. Dr. Lynn Hubbard will conduct her funeral service beginning at 4:00 p.m. in funeral home chapel following the visitation.
