M. Ann Monroe

M. Ann Monroe, age 73, of Gwinn, died under hospice care on Saturday, July 4, 2015. She was born on January 16, 1942 in Norwich, England. Ann met Paul John Monroe while he was stationed in England with the U.S. Air Force. They were married on September 15, 1962 and together raised their son. Ann was a homemaker, and during their marriage they lived in North Dakota, Alaska, and Michigan. They were members of St. Anthony's Parish in Gwinn. Ann and Paul were married over forty-one years when he preceded her in death on December 16, 2003. She enjoyed working puzzles, working outdoors, flower gardening, and crocheting. Ann would crochet blankets and give them to Veterans in need.

She is survived by her son Mark Monroe of Gwinn and siblings in England and Arizona. Ann was preceded in death by her parents and husband Paul. Private services were held on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Munising.
