She lived most of her life in the Traunik area, but she had spent the past fourteen months living with her daughter and son-in-law in the Ford River area. She loved cooking for family and friends. One of her favorites was "biscuit" (a home crushed cardamom ) bread. Her husband Elmer made a loom for her, and she wove many rugs for family and friends. She also enjoyed gardening, picking berries, and cooking for her family and friends who came to visit the "Great Northern Vacation Spot" from early summer through hunting season. Her children talked about her great sense-of-humor!

Marietta was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings Charlie, John, Eino, Urho, Saima, Jennie, Martha, and Wilho.
Services for Marietta will be conducted by Rev. Leslie Niemi at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Chatham on Friday, June 23, 2006 at 2:00 P.M.
