Marjorie “Marge” Ann Travis, age 90, of Chatham, died Sunday, May 31, 2026 at Medilodge of Munising. She was born on January 16, 1936 in Lake Forest, Illinois to the late Chester and Vivian (Pester) Heroff. Marge grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah and graduated from South High School. She met Marion Junior “Jack” Travis and they were married on July 13, 1957 and together they raised their three children. Jack was in the Air Force and was stationed in Florida where they started their family before being stationed at K.I. Sawyer. Marjorie fell in love with the U.P. and when they moved off base they made Chatham their permanent home. She worked on base cleaning at the barracks and then became a nurse’s aid at the Health Haven and with Commission on Aging. Marge enjoyed crocheting, knitting, fishing with Jack and her boys, and was a lover of all animals. She was a lifelong member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile.

Marge is survived by her children – Loretta (Robert) Ollila of Munising, Thomas Travis of Munising, and Marion “Jim” (Wanda) Travis of Rock; grandchildren – Jennifer (Tim) Perry, Bradley (Hannah) Maki, Erica (Roger) Mitchell, and Cassandra “Cassie” Cortez; great-grandchildren – Jaslynn, Trevin, Rylan, William, Hunter, and Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents Chester and Vivian husband Jack, and brother Donald Heroff.

Private family services will take place and interment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery.
