Mary E. Egan, age 90, of Munising and formerly of Marysville, Michigan, died at her home at Harbour View Assisted Living in Munising on Friday, November 17, 2006. She was born on October 29, 1916 in Port Huron, Michigan to the late Richard and Carrie (nee Walker) Downs. She married Timothy James Egan on April 15, 1971in Florida. He preceded her in death on January 14, 1990. Mary was employed with Western Union, Chrysler Corporation, and Ford Motor Company prior to her retirement. She enjoyed dancing and wintered in Florida with her husband for many years.
Mary is survived by a brother and sisters-in-law - John R. (Evelyn) Downs of Jacksonville, FL and Mrs. (Norval) Anna Downs of Port Huron, MI; nephews and nieces - John R. (June) Downs of Munising, Carolyn M. (Al) Bingham of Ottawa, Canada, Gary R. (LaVaughan) Downs and Michael J. (Beverly) Downs all of Riverview, FL, Carol Ann (Joe) Maddox of Jupiter, FL, Mary Margaret Elpers of Jacksonville, FL, T. Cooper (Carol) Downs of Arizona, and Harry R. Downs of California; and numerous great nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her parents, brothers Norval M., Alvin W., and H. Clinton Downs, and sisters Margarette H. Brown and Doris E. Peck.
Family graveside services will take place at the Lakeside Cemetery in Port Huron, Michigan in the spring of 2007.
