Peggy A. Rentschler, age 83, of Munising and formerly of Enterprise, AL took her last breath Monday, March 11, 2024 at the Trillium House in Marquette.
Peggy loved to entertain and was a hostess extraordinaire. She was known for whipping up delicious treats for family and friends. She kept an immaculate house and there would have been a time you could have eaten off the floor safely. She loved a good game of cards and was a fierce competitor. She was known for her crafting skills, making intricate cards and crafts often sharing them with others. Peggy wasn't bashful to make a funny face to make others laugh. Peggy's favorite season was fall and was known to stop at every overlook in the Smokies to take in the colors. She enjoyed camping, traveling and making her home welcoming. Peggy never met a dog she didn’t love and had her companion Teddy next to her side right up to the end.
Peggy was preceded by her love Don, daughter Jackie and grandson David.  Peggy lives on through memories and characteristics of her 7 children, 18 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren.
Peggy will be laid to rest in a private ceremony in a family plot in Indiana.
Thank you to the Alger County Commission on Aging who gave her such joy and friendship over the years. Dr Chelsea Ray, Paula Ackerman for their tender care of her medical needs. A huge shout out to the Alger County EMS who showed compassion when they’d assist her repeatedly. Lastly, to the Trillium House and UPHP for their phenomenal care in her last days.
