Raymond “Ray” “Zinger” Klosowski, age 68, of Munising died unexpectedly Monday, September 21, 2026 at Munising Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. He was born on October 13, 1957 in Munising to the late John and Patricia (Marentette) Klosowski. Ray played basketball for the Mustangs and graduated from Wm. G. Mather High School in 1975. In his younger years, Ray loved visiting family on their old farm on Roy Wright Road for family gatherings and deer hunting for years to come. He worked at Timber Products in the veneer mill for over twenty-one years before working side by side with Doug and then Scott Peters hanging drywall for another twenty years. He was an avid sports fan, cheering on the Tigers, Redwings, Bucks, and Packers, if the game was on TV he would be watching. Ray was a fierce competitor and was good at everything he did. He was great at golf, pool, bowling, cards, and rarely lost at darts (except the last time he played Sara). Ray’s love of competition and golf created a Friday night tradition of playing Tiger Wood PGA Tour video game with his friends Jim, Bob, and Bruce. Ray was a longtime member of Pictured Rocks Golf Course where he played in the Thursday Night Men’s Majors League for years and was at almost every scramble there was. His iconic duos of Horse, Chris Goss, and Willie were always competitive and fun to be around.

Ray is survived by his children – Sara (Peter) Fedder of Myrtle Beach, SC and R.J. (Samantha Tringali) Klosowski of Munising; grandchildren – Abby Heiss and Matteo and Xylah Klosowski; siblings – John (Sally) Klosowski, David (Karen) Klosowski, and Sheila (Murray Donnelly) Makinen all of Munising, numerous nieces and nephews; and former wives whom he still loved dearly – Shelly Benson and Renee Dowd. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Pat and dear friend Will Rousseau.

Visitation will be on Friday, October 9, 2026 at the Bowerman Funeral Home from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. Ray's memorial service will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery.
