Raymond “Ray” D. Revord, age 62, of Christmas, died unexpectedly following a brief illness at his home late Saturday evening, October 11, 2025. Ray was born in Munising on October 8, 1963 to Raymond and Carol (Fox) Revord. He grew up in Munising until the age of eight when his family moved to Newberry. Ray graduated from Newberry High School in 1982. He worked at Louisiana Pacific in Newberry before entering the U.S. Army. After being discharged, Ray returned to the Munising area where he went to work at Hiawatha Log Homes. He drove heavy equipment for well over thirty years. The wear and tear on his body took him out of driving heavy equipment and he went to work as a server at the Kewadin Casino in Christmas before retirement. Ray was a hard worker and was recognized at his places of employment as an exemplary employee. Ray married Christine G. Carlton on July 26, 2000, and throughout their marriage, he supported Chris through everything and any of her endeavors. Ray was a loving and caring man who loved his family and had a super sense of humor. He would do anything for anyone who needed a hand. Ray loved hunting, fishing, driving in the woods, spending time on Grand Island with his father, riding his motorcycle, and working on cars. He believed in the Lord and took an online class to become an ordained minister. Ray was proud of his Ottawa and Ogunquit Native American heritage. He was also a proud supporter of the NRA.
Ray is survived by his wife of over twenty-five years – Chris Revord of Christmas; children – Donna (Ernie) Troop, Joe Revord, Kimmy Revord, Gustave “Gus” Kisro, and Maria Kisro; father – Raymond “Butch” Revord; five grandchildren with another on the way – Ernest, Rayna, Adelynn, Jayne, and Katlyne; sister – Glady (Ned) Stockert of Harvey; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Carol Revord, sister Karen Revord, and his in-laws.
Services will be held at the Bowerman Funeral Home in Munising on Thursday, October 30, 2025. Visiting time with family and friends will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Ray’s service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with the Alger County Veterans Honor Guard rendering military honors followed by his memorial service.
