Rebecca “Becky” Ann Engelhardt, age 80, of AuTrain, Michigan, died Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at the Tendercare Health Center in Munising with her loving husband at her side. She was born on July 15, 1935 in Woodburn, Indiana to the late Merl and Orpha (Lutz) Rubley. Becky graduated from Bronson High School in 1953. Becky worked for the Battle Creek Enquirer for over forty years. She also held positions within the Miller Foundation which she eventually became CFO of this charitable organization. Becky married Ernest J. Engelhardt on September 17, 1976. After their retirement Becky and Ernie moved to the Upper Peninsula. She enjoyed traveling, especially their trips to Europe, sharing time with her friends, being with family, and enjoying her beautiful view of Lake Superior.
Becky is survived by her husband of nearly forty years – Ernie Engelhardt; children – Brent R. Blackman, Laura J. (Gary) Greenfield, Ernie (Holly) Engelhardt, Jr., and Sara Marie (Khalil Banane) Engelhardt, grandchildren – Joel Blackman, Justin Blackman, Jesse Bigley, Emily Jayne, and Andrew Engelhardt and Isaac Engelhardt; great-grandchildren – Skyler and Nolan; and brother – Donald. She was preceded in death by her parents – Merl and Orpha, and brothers – Robert and Norbert.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Fort Custer Christian Assembly in Battle Creek, MI.
