Richard “Dick” C. Dover, age 68, of Shingleton, died, Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at U.P. Health Systems – Marquette. He was born December 16, 1952 in Flint, Michigan to the late Jack and Shirley (Thrasher) Dover. Dick grew up in Davison, Michigan and graduated from Kearsley High School in 1971. He earned an associate’s degree at The Ford Forestry Center that was run by Michigan Tech and then began working for the State of Michigan’s Department of Natural Resources. Dick was a Conservation Officer for many years and also was a firefighter for the DNR, he retired in the early 2000’s. He was an avid outdoorsman. Dick loved to hunt and fish. Some of his favorite places to be were Lake Superior fishing or on his annual hunting trip to Montana. This year he was proud to announce he had finally beaten his own record in how many fish he caught in a year. He caught 417 fish.
Dick is survived by his daughter – Lisa Dover of Colorado; brother – William “Bill” (Terry) Dover; and niece and nephew – Susan and Jason. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Jack Dover.
