Robert "Bob" C. Herzog

Trenary / Kingsford

Robert C. “Bob” Herzog, age 60, of Trenary and formerly of Kingsford, died Sunday, April 15, 2018 at his home following a brief illness.  He was born on June 23, 1957 in Newberry, Michigan to Robert B. and Marjorie Herzog.  Bob grew up in Kingsford and attended Kingsford High School.  On November 26, 1973 he married Alana S. Tauscheck and together they raised their family.  Bob and Alana spent two years in Cheyanne, Wyoming where he worked maintenance and security.  In 1985, they moved to Alpena, Michigan to be close to family.  While there, Bob was a small business owner of Bob’s Small Engine Clinic and Four Seasons Lawn Care.  Bob and Alana moved back to the Upper Peninsula in 1993 and moved to Trenary where they built their home.  Bob loved the outdoors and being at his little cabin in the woods.  He was a successful fisherman and hunter, he would spend many days in his bow stand and rifle blind each fall.  Bob was lifetime member of the North American Hunting Club.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and will be dearly missed by his family.

Bob is survived by his wife – Alana Herzog of Trenary; children – Clint Herzog of Oconto, WI, Jade Herzog of Powers, MI, Tara Herzog of Saginaw, MI, Melissa Tauscheck of Seymour, WI, and Angelina Herzog of Iron Mountain; grandchildren – Anita, Tyler, Taylor, Tiffany, Treyveon, Seaniah, Lucas, Gavin, Breanne, Haley, and Kyle; great-grandchildren – Ariella and Elijah; Father – Robert (Jacklyn) Herzog; siblings – Thomas Wright, Jr., Clifford (Barbara) Wright, Joseph (Kathleen) Wright, Leonard Wright, Pete (Stacy) Wright, and Beth (Troy) Dennis; brother-in-law – Steve Stec; numerous nieces and nephews, and special friend – Michael Kreis.  He was preceded in death by his mother – Marjorie Wright; adopted mother – Loretta Herzog; sisters – Irene (Joe) Mitchem and Carol Stec.

Visitation will be on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the Bowerman Funeral Home from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m.  Bob’s funeral service will take place at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are asked to be given to Bob’s family.
