Russel William Hollingshead

Russel William Hollingshead, age 69, of Germfask, died following lengthy illness on Monday, October 13, 2025 at Medilodge in Munising. Russ was born on May 25, 1956 in Manistique, Michigan to Mervin and Carol (Losey) Hollingshead. He grew up in Germfask and started school there. The family moved to Lapeer, and he continued school at Turrill Elementary, White Junior High, and then graduated from Lapeer West High School in 1973. Russ worked for the State of Michigan for many years and at Traco Plastics in Lapeer. He moved to Lakefield and worked as a custodian at the Tahquamenon Public Schools. Russ enjoyed hunting when he was younger, enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, and he loved his dogs.

He is survived by his mother – Carol Hollingshead; brothers – Mervin L. and Gregory L. Hollingshead; sister – Carolyn (Gerald Wolgast) Corkins; nephews and nieces – Amy Hollingshead, Adam (Dusty) Boldrey, Clay Hollingshead, and Mikaela Hollingshead; great nieces – Elianah, Olivia, and Emmie Lou; great nephews – Zander and Landon; and great-great nephew – Owen. Russ was preceded in death by his father Mervin G. Hollingshead, brother Duane Hollingsehead, and his nephew Curtis D. Hollingshead.
