Samantha Jane (nee Fischer) Moreman, age 39, of Munising and formerly of Niles, Michigan died suddenly and unexpectedly at her home early Wednesday morning, August 5, 2026. She was born on April 14, 1987 in South Bend, Indiana. Samantha grew up in Niles but then moved to Fishers, Indiana where she graduated from Fishers High School in 2005. She was very athletic and enjoyed her time playing basketball and swimming. Samantha attended community college for a couple of years and then earned her certificate in cosmetology school. Although she never worked in the trade, she gave many haircuts to family and friends. Samantha worked for Bayer Pharmaceuticals as an accounts manager before working for Wells Fargo in Indianapolis as a wealth management advisor. In 2015, Samantha was diagnosed with kidney failure which forced her to need dialysis. Her health continued to decline to the point of becoming a kidney and pancreases recipient. No matter how bad she felt, how hard the treatments were, and how long her recoveries lasted, Samantha continued to be an amazing mom to her loving son Max. On October 14, 2023 Samantha married Brian Morman and together they continued to raise and surround Max with love. In 2024, they moved to their dream home on a small lake in the Hiawatha National Forest. Samantha loved to go on hikes with their dogs Mika and Charlie, fishing, golfing, and snowmobiling, anything to be outdoors and enjoy nature. She was also a talented artist and cook. She loved to draw and cook with Max and bake his favorite banana bread. In 2025, Samantha’s health turned again, this time being diagnosed with Lymphoma. Again, her strength and will to survive carried her through her countless treatments to beat cancer and to surround herself with the love of her family. Samantha was one of the strongest women you will ever meet and her love for Max and her family was second to none.

Samantha is survived by her husband Brian Moreman, son Max, mother Melodie Wilson, and brother Ryan Fischer. She was preceded in death by her grandma Jane Orrick.
