Scott Stelmaszek Bernard
37 years, 15 days, and 7 hours - that's all the time the Lord blessed us with Scott Stelmaszek Bernard. Scott grew up in Munising and graduated from Munising High School in 1987. He went on to receive his Bachelors' Degree from Ferris State where he studied finance and belonged the Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity. Scott held several jobs after graduation, but probably the most important was the two years he lived with and cared for his grandmother, Min Scott, when her health failed. He was a rock that his family could always lean on in times of need.
He is survived by his mom and dad - Bonnie and Russ Bernard of Munising; the love of his life - Sheila Livermore; his sister - Sue (Mark) Jokela and their two daughters Jessica and Jadie all of Waukesha, WI; his step-sisters all of Munising - Lynne (Bob) Bowerman, Sandy (Ron) Davis, Jude (David) Holloway, Sheryl (Tim) Anderson; step-brothers - Russ Bernard of Green Bay and Jake (Donna) Bernard of Las Vegas, NV; and half-brother - John Charles Stelmaszek of Waukesha. Scott also cared deeply for his lifelong friends - Jeff, Eddie, Gary, Andy, and Bruce. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Gene and Min Scott of Munising and John and Helen Stelmaszek of L'Anse.
Scott was a good son, a good grandson, a good brother, a good uncle, a good partner, and a good friend. Our loss is deep, but our memories and faith in God's everlasting love will soften the blow.
Visitation will be held at the Bowerman Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Rev. Dr. Lynn Hubbard will conduct Scott's funeral service at the Eden Lutheran Church in Munising on Thursday, August 3, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Munising.
