Sharon Ann (Rochefort) Albright, age 75, of Munising, died at her home under the loving care of her family and North Woods Hospice on Thursday, June 19, 2025. She was born in Escanaba on February 24, 1950 to the late Leslie and Mae (Gollakner) Rochefort and grew up in the Fayette / Garden area. Sharon’s family moved to Munising in 1959, and she graduated from Sacred Heart School and then attended Wm. G. Mather High School. Sharon married Ismah Albright on June 29, 1968. They moved to Arizona, back to Michigan in the Muskegon area, and then Texas. Sharon was a server at numerous restaurants and casinos. She and Is enjoyed going to World Wrestling Entertainment events. Sharon also loved Elvis and was thrilled when the Elvis impersonators put on a show at her casino. On December 20, 2004, Ismah preceded Sharon in death after thirty-six years of marriage. She moved to Oklahoma before returning home in Munising in 2016. Sharon enjoyed playing Bingo, playing the slots at the casino, she enjoyed attending hockey games of her great-nephew, watching WWE on television, dressing up for Halloween, and attending family reunions. Sharon loved being with family, and she especially enjoyed spending time with her “Little Angel,” Emily, who was the first niece or nephew that she was able to be a part of her life since she was born.
Sharon is survived by her siblings – Shirley Stone of Munising, Darlene (Ted) Brown of Munising, Steven (TD) Rochefort of AuTrain, Patty (Rocky) VanDorn of Wetmore, Brenda Rochefort of Munising, and Les (Cris Weinberg) Rochefort of Munising; sister-in-law – Sandy Rochefort of Milwaukee; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law on the Albright side; and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews on the Rochefort and Albright sides of the family.
She was preceded in death by her parents - Leslie and Mae Rochefort; husband – Ismah; parents-in-law – Opal and Jim Albright; brother - Norman Rochefort; sisters - Betty (Jim) Richardson and Linda (Andy) Demogola; brothers-in-law – Scott Stone and Willard Syers; nephews – Willy Syers and Dennis Rochefort; great-nephews – Kevin Suardini and Connor Richardson; and great nieces – Rita Lynn and Jennifer Richardson and Jessica Richardson.
Services will be held at the Bowerman Funeral Home in Munising on Monday, June 23, 2025. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Deacon Tom Moseley will conduct Sharon’s funeral service in the funeral home’s chapel at 3:00 p.m.
