Munising

Steven E. Graves, age 62, of Munising, died peacefully and unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, June 11, 2026. He was born in Munising to the late Ronald and Marilynn (Matson) Graves. Steve fell in love with the outdoors at a young age and his passion for hunting and fishing was ignited by his grandpa Matson. Steve began working in the woods and was a logger for Graves Logging for many years. He worked a number of other jobs like when he would help at the fish Matson’s Fisheries, but he considered his time there as working a little and socializing a lot. He loved spending time with family and friends and cherished the times spent out at Joe’s Lake. Steve was an avid fisherman and enjoyed listening to rock and roll and country music.

He is survived by his children – Kyle Cadwell and Amanda (Will) Webber; grandchildren – Peyton and C.J.; siblings – Ron (Deb) Graves, Sue Wright, Mike (Holly) Graves, and Michelle Graves; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. Steve was preceded in death by his parents Ronald and Marilynn, brother Gideon Graves, nephew Devin Albright, former brother-in-law William “Bill” Wright, Jr., and former sister-in-law Sandi (Argall) Graves.

A memorial gathering will take place at the Barge Inn in Munising on Sunday, June 28, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
