Munising
Suzzanne “Suzie” (LaCombe) Anderson, age 68, of Munising, died early Wednesday evening, July 5, 2017 at the Tendercare Health Center in Munising with her family by her side. She was born to Arnold “Spec” and Henrietta (St. Martin) LaCombe on June 22, 1949. Suzie grew up on LaCombe Road in Christmas and graduated from Sacred Heart School. During high school, she was active with cheerleading and proud to be a majorette with the marching band. She graduated from Wm. G. Mather High School in 1967. Suzie married Harold Anderson on September 23, 1967 and together raised their two daughters. She was active in the community and at Eden Lutheran Church. Suzie worked as a secretary for Judge Werner at the Court House and at the Munising Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed teaching her 4-H group how to twirl batons and she enjoyed sewing, baking, macramé and other crafts. Her health failed over twenty-seven years ago, and Suzie began a new chapter in her life in assisted living. She was always the laughter that entered the room first and her personality was bigger than life. Suzie made friends throughout her entire life and family and friends always felt better after spending time with her. She was funny, outgoing, and had an amazing memory that recalled even the smallest details of past events. People enjoyed spending time with Suzie and she brought joy to those she met.
She is survived by her daughters – Monica (Jason Francisco) Anderson of Lakeville, MN and Durae (Scott) Kinney of Grand Rapids, Michigan; Harold Anderson of Wetmore; grandchildren – Montanna, Mia, and Reese; brothers and sisters – Larry Ulrich of Neenah, WI, Thomas LaCombe of Elizabeth City, NC, Diane (John) Popp of Midland, MI, Mary Kaye (Tom) Fulcher of Munising, Lorraine (Rick) Runsat of Chatham, Dan (Phyllis) LaCombe of Munising, and Celeste (Rob) Wiitanen of Munising; she was the favorite Aunt Suz to numerous nieces and nephews and the family comedian to a vast number of cousins. Suzie was preceded in death by her parents “Spec” and Henrietta, brother David LaCombe, and sisters-in-law Darlene LaCombe, Helen Ulrich, and Jean Ann LaCombe, infant nephew Thomas Daniel Fulcher and a niece Gail Popp Eggelston.
A memorial service will be held at the Eden Lutheran Church in Munising on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ann Gonyea officiating.
