Terry Ray Rivord, 78, of Munising, passed away at his home on Thursday, January 1, 2026, following an unexpected cardiac event. Born on June 1, 1947, in Munising, Michigan, Terry was the beloved son of the late Fynn and Esther (Staggs) Rivord. Raised in the community he loved, Terry attended Munising schools, where he proudly competed as a member of the Munising Mustangs football and track teams. His determination, strong work ethic, and love for life were evident from an early age.

Throughout his life, Terry was known as a hardworking and dedicated man. He began his career working in the woods and at the Hartho sawmill before moving downstate in 1970 to pursue opportunities in construction. He later found his calling as a crane operator with Worthington Steel in Jackson, where he faithfully worked for twenty-three years until his retirement. Following retirement, Terry returned to the Upper Peninsula, the place he had always considered home.

For several years, Terry shared his life with his childhood friend and ex-wife, Arlene Tyner. Together they built a family and shared many memories throughout their years together. Terry was the proud father of two sons. He was preceded in death by his eldest son, Terrance Rivord Jr., who passed away in 2018. Terry is survived by his youngest son, Brandon Wick. He also leaves behind his grandchildren and great grandchildren, who brought him great joy.

Terry had a lifelong passion for automobiles. Building cars was more than a hobby—it was an expression of his creativity, patience, and craftsmanship. Each vehicle was a labor of love, often requiring more than a year of careful work to complete. Over the course of his life, Terry owned an astounding 152 cars, each reflecting his enthusiasm for mechanics and restoration.

He also cherished time spent outdoors, especially on fishing trips with his dear friends and family, including Butch Rivord and Chum Brock. These adventures created lasting memories filled with laughter, stories, and companionship.

Terry will be remembered for his quiet strength, skilled hands, generous spirit, and deep appreciation for family, friendship, and the simple joys of life. His legacy lives on through the family he loved, the friendships he cherished, and the countless memories shared by those fortunate enough to know him.

Though he will be deeply missed, Terry's memory will continue to live on in the stories, laughter, and love shared by those who knew him best.
