Munising
Virginia “Ginny” Alice (Everett) Marshall, age 78, of Munising, died Tuesday morning, April 19, 2022 at her home under the loving care of her family and North Woods Home Hospice. She was born on March 6, 1944 to George and Alice (Moline) Everett. She grew up in Munising and graduated from William G. Mather High School in 1961. She met her husband, Glenn Marshall, when he was in the USAF and stationed at K. I. Sawyer AFB. Glenn was from Virginia, so it wasn’t too surprising that he fell for Virginia. They were married on December 16, 1961. They were transferred to Camp New Amsterdam, in Soesterberg, Holland, shortly after the birth of their first child. Ginny and Glenn enjoyed their time in Europe and traveled to Germany, Italy, and Switzerland. They also lived in Rapid City, South Dakota and in Ishpeming, Michigan, before moving back to Munising to raise their family. Ginny stayed at home to raise her four children when they were young. She later went to work at the Munising Community Credit Union and then the Alger County Probate Court, until she retired in 2006.
Ginny was an awesome mother and grandmother. She cherished times with her family more than anything. She rarely missed any type of activity that her children or grandchildren participated in and was their biggest fan! She was a great cook and enjoyed hosting all of the family holiday meals. She loved spending time at camp and taking rides in their side-by-side. She also liked taking car rides in the woods, especially in the fall and family trips across the U.S. She enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles.
Ginny was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church, where she was a Deacon and a member of the Presbyterian Women’s Association. She truly enjoyed her time with her church family. She was a volunteer at the Alger County Food Pantry and a guardian for many people at MediLodge.
Ginny is survived by her loving husband of sixty years - Glenn Marshall of Munising; children – Sharon (Pete) Kelto, Kathy (Jeff) Seaberg, Libby (Steve) Blank, and Brett Marshall, all of Munising; grandchilderen – Chad (Lisa) Seaberg, Amanda (Casey) Young, Troy (Emily) Seaberg, Abbey (Mark) Zitnik, Andrew (Diana) Kelto, Austin (Karlee) Kelto, Garrett Blank, Alec Blank, and Makenzie Marshall; great grandchildren – Cole and Collin Young. She was preceded in death by her mother Alice, her sisters Ann and Arlene, and her brother Russell.
Services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church on Saturday, April 23, 2022. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until noon. Pastor Jim Rodgers will conduct Ginny’s funeral service at noon. A luncheon will be provided in the lower level of the church following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ginny’s name may be made to the First Presbyterian Church.
The Marshall Family would like to thank everyone who has given so much love, kindness, and support.
