Deborah "Debbie" S. Gray

Deborah “Debbie” S. Gray, age 62, of Munising and formerly of Manistique, died Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Medilodge of Munising with loving family at her side.  She was born in West Bend, Wisconsin on August 5, 1960 to the late Harvey and Peggy (Molter) Gray.  Debbie was a member of the class of 1978 at West Bend East High School.  She married Brian Thompson and together they had three children.  Debbie moved to the U.P. in 1985.  She worked a number of small jobs before becoming a cook.  She cooked at the Harbor Restaurant, Sunny Shores for many years, and as a private caterer.  Debbie met the love of her life David Kane and they spent over thirty years together.  She enjoyed cooking, arts and crafts, making grandkids Halloween costumes, and holiday parties.  In her later years, Debbie looked forward to keeping up with family and friends through Facebook and catching up on the phone.

She is survived by her children – Sarah (Travis) Murk of Munising, JoAnne Tembrall of Manistique, and Brian Thompson II of Munising; grandchildren – Kelsey (Kris) Maxon, Riley and Avery Murk, Payton and Taylor LaFlamme, and Malachi Tembreull; and great-grandchildren – Mya Jean and Sadie Lou. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, sister Sandy Denkins, and longtime partner David Kane.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
