Robert David Methot, age 32, lifetime resident of Munising, died unexpectedly but peacefully while surrounded by his parents and sister on Saturday morning, January 14, 2023 at UPHS in Marquette following heart issues. Bobby, as he was known by all, was a young man who loved, respected, and was devoutly loyal to his family and friends, past and present. Although his heart was in poor health for many years, it remained large and full of kindness, compassion, and great bravery.
Bobby loved all sports, and while able to, played football, basketball, and golf. Bobby was also exceptional at bowling and skateboard trick-riding, winning many competitions and awards in both. He also played little league baseball, and was an All-Star multiple times. He was also successful hunter.
But his two greatest loves were: fishing – especially on the ice, and pro football; namely, the Detroit Lions, and his biggest hero, Tom Brady.
He particularly loved his family. Bobby looked forward to time with us all, especially his annual trek to Grand Island ice caves with his mother; watching sports and old movies on T.V., taking walks with, and making his dad laugh, and his nightly texts with his sister.
Bobby is survived by his daughter – Abby Rose; parents – David “Satch” Methot of Munising and Kaye (Greg Cota) Methot of Munising; sister – Raygina (Ryan) Hill of Van Meer; nephews and niece – Jerry, Aundraya, and Daniel; uncles – Scott Methot and Donald Pawelski; aunt – Patty (Bob) Maki; cousins Kristin and Tricia; and “uncle” – Jake Barker.
Bobby was preceded in death by his grandparents – Robert and Marjorie Pawelski and Manny and Rhoda Methot; uncles – Bob Pawelski and Bruce Methot; and favorite dogs the pugs – Izzo and Chauncey.
