Escanaba / Trenary

Ronald Trudell, age 90, formerly from Trenary, Michigan died Wednesday, July 27th, 2022 at his home in Escanaba, Michigan, under the loving care of his wife and OSF Home Hospice. Ron was born on June 30th, 1932 to the late Lillian (Walls) and Charles Trudell at his home in Winters Corner.  Ronald graduated from Trenary High school in May 1951. He married Mary Lou Franklin on September 27th, 1952. They made their home in Trenary and raised 3 children. Ron worked for Cliff Dow chemical company in Marquette for 10 years until they closed their doors.  He then went to work for American Timber Homes in Wells for 20 years until they laid him off and then worked for the Trenary Home Bakery until he retired in 1994.  Ron loved to garden and to go dancing. He mostly loved Country music and going to see Helen DeBaker and the Stardusters play at the Arcadia in Gladstone. He was a faithful Catholic and instilled good values in his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was a loving husband and would have been married 70 years in September. He was a wonderful father and grandfather and never missed a baseball or basketball game that his kids or grandkids played when he was younger and could still get around.  

Ron is survived by his wife - Mary Lou Trudell of almost 70 years; three children – Mike (Ann) Trudell of Escanaba, Douglas (Tammy) Trudell of Gladstone, Tammy (Rodney) LaCross of Nahma; eight grandchildren , Nikki (Josh) Godfrey, Jordan (Courtney) Trudell, Douglas Trudell Jr., Amanda (Dave ) Jolly, Ashley (Bob) Larson, Dawn (John Lapine) Williams, Josh (Kristie) Hemminger, Adam (Mallory) Hemminger. sixteen great-grandchildren, Trinity and Avery Godfrey, Shannon, Zack, Jaxsin, and Lillyannah Trudell, Alex and Corbin Larson, Hailey and Duaine Williams III, Josie and Nevaeh Hemminger, Jared, Charlie, Annabella, and Romeo Hemminger; his foster daughter - Terri (Tom) Dilts and their daughters Sarah and Katie; and cousin - Beverly Shaw. He was proceeded in death by his mom and dad Lillian and Charles Trudell, brothers Howard and Clayton, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Faye and Roy Nelson and Betty and Glenn Hoy, granddaughter Shannon Nicole Trudell and great-grandchildren Nelson Charles Williams and Sammie Lee Jolly.

The family would like to Thank all the wonderful Home health and Hospice staff and physical therapists that worked with Ron and took such good care of him. Brittany Kipp was his favorite Hospice nurse and Jay was his favorite physical therapist.  Also all the nurses and Dr. Nagano that took care of him throughout the years.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at St. Rita’s Church in Trenary from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m.  Fr. Brandon Yanni will celebrate Ron’s memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at the Mathias Township Cemetery.
