Rosemary (Iliff) Potter

July 21, 1938 — May 9, 2019

Grand Marais

Rosemary (Iliff) Potter passed away on May, 9, 2019 after a long battle with atherosclerosis. As in life, Rosemary faced the disease with determination and courage.  She leaves behind her husband of 52 years, Edward J. Potter Jr., their children Cindy Lawson of Spokane, Washington, Troy R. Potter (Anne-Marie) of St. Johns, Michigan, and Edward J. Potter III, of  Grand Marais, Michigan, along with many siblings, grandchildren especially Boomer and Miranda, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  She reunited with her beloved father, Bert, and son, Jake, in Heaven.

Rosemary was born in White Cloud, Michigan, on July 21, 1938, to Bert S. Iliff and Mary Adelitzo.  Her life was full of hard work, deep love of family, and appreciation of nature.  She was a quiet, private woman, but when she felt the need to “set someone straight”, look out.  Rosemary was a person of raw talent.  Her sketches, paintings, beadwork, and quilts were unmatched.  She could discover agates on the beaches of Lake Superior and pick blueberries in secret locations of School Forest like none other.   Rosemary leaves behind a proud family who will greatly miss her.  Her husband and caretaker, Ed, said it best:  “She was a good woman!”
