Shirley (Madox) Martindale

Munising / Melstrand

Shirley Martindale, age 88, of Munising and formerly of Melstrand, died early Sunday morning, December 22, 2019 at Medilodge of Munising.  She was born on April 16, 1931 in Gaylord, Michigan to the late Edward and Lina (Frayley) Madox. Shirley married Everett Martindale on December 7, 1946 and together raised their two children in Melstrand.  She was a wonderful homemaker who made everything from scratch.  Shirley loved hunting and fishing with Everett and especially enjoyed deer season.

Shirley is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Jean and Bob Denman; six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and twelve great-great-grandchildren with two more on the way; brother – Don (June) Maddox; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Lina; husband Everett; son Wayne Martindale; and nine brothers and sisters.

Services will be held at a later date.  Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery.
